Tibet and Lhasa

The Potala Palace, the Jokhang and the roof of the world

Tibet Best time: April - October 8 places to see

Tibet is the highest destination we operate and the one that needs the most planning. Foreign travelers need a Tibet Travel Permit arranged through a licensed agency; we handle the permit, the flight or train into Lhasa, the guide who travels with you, and the acclimatisation that makes the rest of the trip comfortable rather than a headache.
Lhasa itself holds the Potala Palace, the Jokhang Temple and the pilgrim circuit of the Barkhor. Beyond the city are Yamdrok Lake, the great monastery at Shigatse, and — for the fit and the well-acclimatised — the north face base camp of Everest.
We only sell this route with a realistic altitude plan and a proper buffer for weather, and we will tell you if it does not suit your dates.
